About Kalekim
Founded in 1973 by Dr. H. Ibrahim Bodur, the founder of the Kale Group of Co only in its current fields of business but also new ones, and is carrying out studies to do this. To this end, Kalekim started operating in the decorative coating field in 2021 with the launch of Visuelle. It is making good use of inorganic growth opportunities and acquiring related companies. Kalekim prioritizes innovation in all these processes and regards innovation as a key company strategy. It is continuing to work to create dynamic products, generate new ideas, or improve existing goods and services. Kalekim aims to leave a more livable world to future generations by focusing on common values based on economic, environmental, and social aspects as part of its sustainability work. H. Ibrahim Bodur Holding A.Ş. holds 68.67% of the Company’s shares. The pioneer of Turkey’s construction chemicals industry, Kalekim is the market leader in ceramic applications. With its recognition, quality company image, and powerful brand name, Kalekim increases is production capacity every day through its extensive dealership network. Exporting to 80 countries with the innovative products developed in its R&D Center, the Company has strong cash investment and working capital. With its flexible production means and ability to respond quickly to sudden changes, Kalekim is consumer-oriented in its production and works under all conditions without sacrificing quality. With employee loyalty and satisfaction above the industry average, Kalekim has one of Turkey’s first and broadest professional workman platforms with its “Professionals Club.” In the construction chemicals industry, Kalekim produces ceramic applications (ceramic adhesives, joint fillers, surface preparation-care and cleaning products, sealing and installation products), insulation solutions (waterproofing products: technical applications, additives, thermal insulation products), and industrial flooring applications. Paint and plaster production falls under the Company's construction paint and varnishes sector. Kalekim is implementing its localization model in target regions where its market potential and competitive power are high for its goal of growth abroad, which is one of its key strategic plans. By doing so, it aims to continue its domestic success and experience in these regions, too. History
1973
- The Company was founded in Istanbul.
1998
- The Isparta factory was established. Received the ISO 9001 Quality Management System certificate.
2001
- The Mersin factory was established. The Kalekim Professionals Club was founded.
2002
- Merger took place with Kaleterasit Sıva Sanayi A.Ş., Kale Group’s establishment in the paint and plaster industry. After this merger, the Kaleterasit branded ready-to-use colored plasters and the interior and exterior paint brand Kalecolor joined the Company’s product range.
2004
- The Mavi Kale - Blue Safe Brand was created through collaboration with Dow Chemical, Mardav, and Kalekim.
2007
- The Yozgat factory was established. Received the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety certificate. Received the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certificate.
2010
- Kalekim R&D studies were expanded and the Applied Research Laboratory was established. Received the ISO 10002 Customer Satisfaction Management System certificate. Added to the Turquality Support Program by the Ministry of Trade.
2012
- Company awarded the Rack Building Materials Award for its Betonart product.
2013
- The Erzurum and Mardin factories were established. The Corporate Risk Management System was implemented.
2014
- Kalekim Mersin Kimyevi Mad. San. ve Tic. Ltd. was merged with the acquisition of all asset liabilities. Kalekim Customer Complaints Management was awarded the Incentive Award at the Productivity Project Awards organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
2016
- The Warranty Professional System was awarded the Game Changers Impact Award. The Artcrete product was awarded the Rack Building Materials Award. Production began in Kenya by commissioning a licensed production facility. The Company was awarded the Best Employers Award in the Best Employers survey conducted by Aon Hewitt.
2017
- The Kalekim R&D Center was certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
2018
- Production began at the Balıkesir factory. The Bi’Boya Brand transformation took place and the biboya.com.tr e-commerce website came online. The Company was awarded the Best Employers Award for a second time in the Best Employers survey conducted by Aon Hewitt.
2019
- The Company was awarded the EFQM Türkiye Excellence Award by KALDER. The Türkiye Excellence Award certified that the Company was an organization that demonstrates the best performance and excels at turning strategy into action. The Company’s second factory abroad was established in Albania. The Company was awarded the Low Carbon Hero Award. The Company was awarded the Best Employers Award for the third time in the Best Employers survey conducted by Kincentric
2020
- At the Golden Plumb International Building Catalog Awards, it was awarded the Corporate Idea Award in the Idea category with its "Bi'Boya Fresh Comfort" product and the Best Promotional Project Award in the Marketing category with its “Biboya.com.tr Launch Campaign.” The transition to the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System was completed. The Company received the TSE COVID-19 Safe Production Certificate. The Company received the “Zero Waste Certificate” as a result of its responsible production understanding with the practices it put into effect in all its factors as part of the Zero Waste Project run by the Ministry of Urbanization and Climate Change.
2021
- Kalekim was floated on the stock exchange. The Company was awarded the Low Carbon Hero Award for a second time. The “Bi’Boya Smart Comfort” product was awarded the “Corporate Idea Award” at the Golden Plumb International Building Catalog Awards. The Company received the Best Customer Experience and Best Digital Service Award at the 14th Türkiye Communication Center Awards. The Suggestion and Risk System (FIKRICIN) won an award in the “Employee Participation” category at the Sustainable Business Awards. The Visuelle brand was launched. The Company was awarded the “Jury Incentive Award” with its Always the Best Kaizen project team at the 24th Quality Circles and Kaizen Award Ceremony organized by the Ankara Branch of KalDer. Two of Kalekim’s projects were deemed worthy of presentation by the Izmir Branch of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers during the 7th Kaizen days.
